Reigning Gen 1 Cup champion Rick Kerry will make his return to TCR UK next month, taking part in this year’s season finale at Brands Hatch, ahead of a full-time comeback in 2026.
Rick has signed with JH Racing, where he will drive the Hyundai i30 N TCR, which was campaigned by title contender Callum Newsham earlier this year.
The Suffolk-based driver finished 2024 as the inaugural TCR UK Gen 1 Cup champion, taking his EDF Motorsport-run CUPRA TCR to glory.
Rick will join Callum in the team as the James Hone-run outfit expands to a two-car effort for the final two races of the year, running both the i30 N TCR and the Elantra N TCR.
His recent visit to Snetterton last month was enough to get Rick back behind the wheel of a TCR car and put into place his plans to return to the series next year in a full-time entry.
Rick shared his thoughts on his TCR UK comeback.
“It’s great to be back in TCR UK for the final round of 2025, the time away has allowed me to assess my options and return with the i 30 N which served Callum Newsham so well. Callum is a great talent and alongside him and the team at JH Racing I’m hoping I can learn and get to grips with the car.
I’m looking forward to Brands Hatch and racing with some old friends.”
Championship Manager Jack Finlan is excited to see an old face return to the grid.
“Rick is a great guy and a real advert for TCR UK. Having already won the Gen 1 Cup, he’s back to try his hand in the overall standings. The other bit of great news is that this is the start of a vision for a full-time campaign in 2026 for Rick, showing his commitment to the championship. I look forward to catching up with Rick at Brands and seeing how the future unfolds.”
