DTR has been named as the team that will run the JAS Motorsport-supported Honda entry in the 2026 TCR UK Touring Car Championship.
Led by Darryl Taplin, DTR will run at least two cars with plans in place for a third car to be added to the lineup.
The Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCR model will be back on the TCR UK grid after a two-year break, as part of a long-term programme to bring the next generation of touring car drivers into the championship and help them develop further.
Two drivers are already signed for next year, with the seat in the third Honda Civic available. The two drivers already signed up will be announced in the coming weeks.

Darryl was involved in the previous championship entry of the FL5, and it is clear that he has unfinished business with the car in the UK.
“I’m excited to announce that we have teamed up with JAS Motorsport and will be on the TCR UK grid with at least two Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCRs next year. The first car will arrive in the UK in the next couple of weeks, ahead of a full testing schedule planned to begin in January,” said Darryl.
“We were clear in the beginning that this should be a long-term project, where we support young drivers who are looking to make their mark in the competitive world of touring car racing. We have unfinished business in TCR UK, and knowing what the car is capable of, I look forward to seeing Honda as a front-running brand once more. ”
Championship Manager Jack Finlan is delighted with the news of DTR joining the championship next year as the Honda brand returns to the TCR UK grid.
“I’m always delighted to welcome new teams to the championship, so it’s wonderful to see DTR join TCR UK for 2026 with a brand new touring car programme. With support from JAS Motorsport, the team will provide young drivers with the best chance to develop in touring cars and go for success,” said Jack.
“Having Honda back on the grid also enhances the diversity of brands taking part in next year, having seen seven different brands competing at this year’s season finale. With manufacturers returning to TCR UK, this marks an important milestone on the path to an exciting 2026 season.”
JAS Motorsport is a Honda Racing Corporation (HRC)-supported operation for all of its TCR endeavours.
