Having already announced he’ll be competing for part of the season, Alex Ley has confirmed that he will make his 2022 TCR UK Championship debut in rounds three and four at Donington Park on Sunday 29th May.

Ley was one of the leading lights during the Pre-Season Test Day held at Brands Hatch at the end of March, when he consistently set top five lap times driving his Daniel James Motorsport-run Hyundai i30 N TCR. A noteworthy performance, taking into account it was his first ever outing in a TCR car.

Already confirmed for the final four rounds of the year that will take place on the Donington Park National and Snetterton 200 circuits, the impression made by the opening two races of the year at Oulton Park has convinced the team to make their debut earlier than planned.

Ley will join the biggest TCR UK grid ever witnessed when he competes at the first of two visits to Donington Park that features the longer Grand Prix layout, where he will be one of eight Hyundai drivers looking to make their mark during the second weekend of the championship’s seven-meeting season.

“I’m really looking forward to making my TCR UK debut at Donington Park in the Hyundai”, said Ley.

“I was pleased with my pace at Brands Hatch during the pre-season media and test day, so I have my fingers crossed that I can carry that momentum forward to Donington. I would like to thank my supporting partners Lifestyle & Mobility, Trade Price Cars and Daniel James Performance cars for helping me get onto the grid.”
