2021 Milltek Sport Civic Cup champion Alistair Camp will make his debut in the 2023 TCR UK Touring Car Championship this weekend at Snetterton after a last-minute deal has been secured with Pro Alloys Racing.

Camp, who tested a CUPRA TCR in the Pre-Season test at Snetterton in February and then drove an Area Motorsport run Hyundai i30 N TCR during the season launch at Donington Park, will be busy across the weekend as he will also be in action in the 2023 Civic Cup rounds as well.

For Neil Greenland’s Pro Alloys Racing squad, 2023 marks a year of expansion. Having made their debut in the Civic Cup as a two-car effort last year, the team has expanded to have eight entries in the Cup this year, fielding an entry in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship and now adding TCR UK to their programme.

With some experience of the Hyundai gained during the wet conditions on Tuesday last week at Donington Park, Camp is excited to make his debut this weekend.

“I can say that I am delighted to be able to make my debut in TCR UK this weekend. After driving the CUPRA and the Hyundai, the future for me is definitely TCR. I’ll also be taking part in the Milltek Sport Civic Cup and my aim is to retake the title there whilst taking in as many TCR UK rounds as I can,” explained Camp.

“I can say thank you enough to Neil Greenland and the team at Pro Alloys for giving me the chance to take part this weekend in TCR UK. Being in the Civic Cup for the last few years, it’s clear that the hard work put into both championships by Stewart and Nicki Lines is paying off. Civic Cup has a large field this year and the depth of talent in TCR UK shows it’s taking another stride forward. Snetterton is going to be an amazing weekend, bring it on!”

Neil Greenland echoed his thoughts about joining TCR UK and how excited he is for this new venture alongside his Civic Cup and Fiesta Junior commitments.

“I’m delighted to be able to announce that we will be competing in TCR UK this year, alongside our commitments in both the Milltek Sport Civic Cup and the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship. Our family-based team has gone through a huge expansion over the winter and our entry with the Pro Alloys Racing Team Hyundai offers us a chance to be part of the fastest-growing touring car championship in the UK,” said Neil.

“With Alistair in the car, we know that we have a driver who brings a huge amount of front-wheel drive experience in tin top racing and race-winning pedigree. We’ll all be learning over the weekend as we get to grips with TCR UK.”
