Bradley Kent went fastest in the only Free Practice session for the TCR UK Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend, where the top fourteen cars were covered by just over a second, as all twenty-three drivers took part.
The Essex and Kent Motorsport driver ended the session on top with a time of 49.046, being one of a number of drivers who fought for the top spot during the fifteen minute session
Alex Ley once again showed his intentions as he went second fastest at the end of the session in the Daniel James Motorsport Hyundai i30 N TCR, just four hundredths of a second behind Kent, ahead of Jac Constable in his Power Maxed Racing CUPRA TCR, with Lewis Kent putting his Hyundai Veloster N TCR in the top five ahead of Adam Shepherd in his Jamsport Racing Hyundai.
Whilst the session was red flagged due to Russell Joyce going off into the gravel at Druids, the clock was at five minutes left when the green flag flew, with Chris Smiley initially going quickest but having to settle for sixth place in his Restart Racing Honda Civic Type R TCR with a time of 49.380.
Bradley Hutchinson showed good pace again in the MPHR Audi RS3 LMS TCR going seventh quickest by the end of the session with Callum Newsham in eighth place on his return, despite being another driver who topped the times early on. Isaac Smith and Jess Hawkins completed the top ten in their Race Car Consultants Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR and Area Motorsport with FastR respectively.
Within a second of Bradley Kent’s time were Scott Sumpton in the third Essex and Kent Motorsport entry, Darelle Wilson in the DW Racing Vauxhall Astra TCR, Bruce Winfield in the Area Motorsport CUPRA TCR and Jamie Tonks in his Area Motorsport with FastR CUPRA TCR.
Championship leader Max Hart ended the session in fifteenth place after suffering issues on Friday, whilst the top Goodyear Diamond Trophy driver was Chris Wallis in the Power Maxed Racing Hyundai i30 N TCR.
