Former Caterham racer and British Supersport rider Cedric Bloch has announced that he will make his debut in the 2024 TCR UK Touring Car Championship.

In doing so, Cedic is the first driver, with a life-changing spinal cord injury, to race in the series history, which began back in 2018. The London-based driver will compete in an adapted Audi RS3 LMS DSG TCR car.

Running under the banner of “SGM with Sport77”, Cedric is ready to return to racing and compete against his able-bodied rivals through the 20-race season with experienced team manager Simon Green overseeing proceedings.

Left with a life-changing spinal cord injury after his crash during Qualifying for the Quattro Group British Supersport & British GP2 Championships Snetterton race, Cedric now seeks to increase awareness and help improve disabilities and equality in motorsport.

His announcement also means that he will be team-mates with Will Powell, whose entry for the new season was announced at the Autosport Show on Thursday, and who will be supporting Cedric’s campaign for the inaugural Gen1 Cup.

With the 2024 season getting underway at Brands Hatch on 13-14th April, using the Indy circuit, the Audi driver will get his first chance to pit his talents against the rest of the TCR UK grid.

Cedric commented on his landmark entry for the new season of TCR UK.

“I am delighted to be making my debut in the TCR UK Championship. Coming from motorbike racing, I wanted to choose a championship with close and hard racing that accommodates hand controls following my accident. The TCR format is the perfect choice for me and I look forward to making history with SGM and Sports77 and thank the championship for their warm welcome.”

Championship Promoter Stewart Lines remarked on Cedric’s history-making entry for the 2024 TCR UK Touring Car Championship.

“This is fantastic news for the new season, showing that the TCR UK Touring Car Championship is a fully inclusive series where anyone can come and race, and be competitive. We look forward to seeing how Cedric progresses in his maiden season with us.”
