Darelle Wilson will take part in his sixth consecutive season of the TCR UK Touring Car Championship as he returns for the 2023 season.

Back at the wheel of his iconic Vauxhall Astra TCR with renewed and increased support from Aalco, Darelle will be revealing a new livery on the car at Media Day, taking place at Donington Park on Tuesday 28th March.

Darelle has campaigned the Vauxhall Astra TCR since TCR UK began back in 2018 and over each season has shown the speed that finally yielded that first race win at Castle Combe in 2021.

Whilst 2022 was a difficult year as he struggled with gearbox issues all season long, the Solihull-based driver returns for a new season with renewed confidence after a winter that has seen a lot of work take place on the “Green Mean Machine”.

Thanks to his increased support from Aalco, this will allow Darelle to compete on equal terms with the other teams and drivers already signed for the 2023 season. Darelle will also be sporting a new helmet that shows the colours of the UK with the Union Jack and also the colours of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

As newer generation cars join the grid for 2023, Darelle knows that he has a known package that is capable of showing front-running pace, something he is aiming to show this year as he puts 2022 behind him.

“I’m excited to get back in the car and to show that we’ve moved on from last season, where as a team, we struggled with several issues on the car. The extra support from my sponsors is also a boost as this means we can put more resources into our 2023 season,” said Darelle.

“The championship has moved on so much since I competed in the first season back in 2018 and to see the arrival of the new driver’s teams and second-generation cars is great. However, I know I can extract the best out of the Astra and I look forward to a better 2023 season in TCR UK.”

The team has a second Vauxhall Astra TCR that they are ready to run during the 2023 season and are happy to take enquiries about running this second car during the year.

The Snetterton 300 circuit is the venue for the opening two rounds of the 2023 TCR UK Touring Car Championship, getting underway on the 8th and 9th of April. Visit https://www.tcr-uk.co.uk/ for more info and how to get involved.
