Darron Lewis will take on his maiden full-season campaign in the 2023 TCR UK Touring Car Championship after his one-off entry at Donington Park in August last year.

Darron will drive the same Audi RS3 LMS TCR that he drove last year, this time in a full-season effort as he looks to move up the TCR UK grid and also challenge for both the Goodyear Diamond Trophy and Tom Walker Trophy honours.

Having used the winter to become more familiar with the Audi, Darron will be embarking on a pre-season test programme to make sure that he is up to speed for the season start at Snetterton over the Easter Weekend.

As the field grows with newer model cars, Darron is already looking to consistency and speed being the two best weapons in his arsenal to gain ground early in the year.

“Last year’s one-off entry at Donington Park in August was fun and for me, that’s why I go motor racing, I do it because I enjoy it. Having said that, it’s also clear that TCR UK has grown since I last took part properly in 2021 and my decision to be a part of it for a full season this year was easy to make,” explained Darron.

“It’s great to see that there are newer models coming, however, that means I can work on making sure that I have the speed and reliability to be fast when others struggle. Touring car racing is partly about luck, so I’m aiming for good speed and reliability in the first half of the season, giving myself an edge for others to try to catch up on.”

The 2023 TCR UK Touring Car Championship season kicks off at Snetterton on the 300 on the 8th and 9th April, visit https://www.tcr-uk.co.uk/ for more info and how to get involved.
