After making an impressive debut at Silverstone in rounds one and two of the Goodyear Touring Car Trophy/TCR UK at the end of April, Hugo Cook has confirmed he will return to the grid for the second half of the season, starting with Oulton Park on Saturday 17th July.

Having driven a Simpson Motorsport run Audi RS3 LMS TCR for both the Britcar Endurance series and Goodyear Touring Car Trophy/TCR UK events when at Silverstone, the 16-year old’s return will see him drive another Audi, this time run by the family team.

“I really liked the shorter-length Goodyear Touring Car Trophy races, in comparison with the endurance format of those in the Britcar series”, said Hugo.

Having finished fifth in the second of the two races, I feel that with a little more seat time I could compete at the front of the field, so my aim is get onto the podium before the end of the season and perhaps challenge for a win.”

Ahead of his return for rounds eight and nine at Oulton Park, Cook tested the Audi he will drive for the rest of the season at Anglesey – the venue that will host rounds 10 and 11. Following the test, he is now more eager than ever to get back into the burgeoning Goodyear Touring Car Trophy/TCR UK this year, with the view of contesting a full season in 2022.
