Vannin Motorsport’s George Jaxon will be driving a brand new CUPRA Leon VZ TCR when the series resumes at Snetterton in just over two weeks’ time.
George has made the switch to the newest TCR car on the market, having already started the year in the Gen 1 Volkswagen Golf and then upgrading to the Gen 2 Audi RS3 LMS from the April event at Donington Park.
Having competed in the Audi for the majority of the season, the move to the latest CUPRA is all part of Jaxon’s long-term plan as he works towards a full-time entry for the 2026 season.
The VZ that the Vannin Motorsport driver will be using is brand new, with George already planning to get some testing in before racing resumes at Snetterton on 13-14 September.
“I’ve enjoyed my first season back in TCR UK, and I’m thrilled to have made steps forward with each race weekend. Whilst I have enjoyed driving the Audi Gen 2 car, it’s clear to me that the VZ TCR is more suited to UK circuits and that is the way forward for me,” George explained.
“I made my commitment to racing in TCR UK earlier this year, and purchasing the VZ is the next step in my long-term plans. Snetterton and Brands Hatch will provide me with a chance to learn more about the car, ahead of my planned full-time entry for the 2026 season.”
Championship Promoter Stewart Lines welcomes George’s commitment to the championship and the addition of another new car to the grid.
“George has already shown impressive improvement in his first season back in TCR UK at the wheel of the Audi, so it’s good to see another new TCR car join the grid for Snetterton and beyond,” said Stewart.
“As we reach the penultimate event of the 2025 season, drivers and teams are already looking ahead to the 2026 season. I’m very happy to see George planning to be back with the VZ to return full-time next year, and I wish him all the best in the final two events of this season.”
