George Jaxon has swapped his Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR for a Gen 2 Audi RS3 LMS TCR ahead of the next event in the 2025 TCR UK Calendar.
The car that George has purchased and will race for the rest of the year is the ex-Volcano Motorsport Audi, which was driven by Rob Huff in the last two events of the 2024 FIA TCR World Tour.
Having previously considered running in two campaigns this year, which included racing in the GT Cup, the purchase of the Audi follows George’s decision to focus on a full season in TCR UK.
The London-based driver made his return to the series this year in the three opening rounds, held at Donington Park on the national layout, where he ended the weekend with two second places in the Gen 1 Cup.
Jaxon is looking forward to advancing up the field with the Audi, which will be run by Vannin Motorsport with DW Racing and supported by Audi Sport Customer Racing.
“I loved making my return to TCR UK and enjoyed driving the Golf; however, as a driver, I want more, and I want to be upfront. So I’ve made the switch to the Audi as I commit to the rest of the 2025 season in the championship and put my GT plans on hold,” explained George.
“Making the move to the newer Audi gives me the opportunity to learn more about driving a Gen 2 car and see how I can improve as a driver. Receiving support from Audi Sport Customer Racing is also a big boost, giving me all the tools I need to hit the ground running.”
TCR UK Championship Promoter Stewart Lines is happy to see the Gen2 Audi back on the TCR UK grid for the rest of the year.
“It’s great to see George commit to the full season in TCR UK, as he makes the switch to a Gen2 Audi. We’ve already seen drivers make the move into newer TCR cars and already enjoy the benefits,” explained Stewart.
“Manufacturer support of the TCR concept has been key over the years, helping customer racing teams achieve success around the world, so it’s good to see Audi supporting their customers in TCR UK. I wish George all the best as he embarks on this new challenge.”
