Exciting teenager Jenson Mason becomes the latest driver to make his TCR UK debut, as he signs with Vannin Motorsport for the 2026 season.

Jenson will be driving one of the teams Audi RS3 LMS TCR Gen 2 cars, alongside the already announced Barry-John McHenry, as he prepares for his UK Touring Car debut at the Brands Hatch opening weekend.

Jenson is no stranger to motorsport, having spent the last three years as part of the successful Wera Alliance Racing Academy.

Starting his racing career in karts, Mason holds the honour of being the 2021 Vice Champion in the Kimbolton Junior Max Championship. Selected for the Wera Alliance Racing Academy after showing his potential in the 2022 Ginetta Junior Scholarship, Jenson made his car racing debut in the 2023 BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship in the MK6 class.

As the youngest driver on the grid that year, he celebrated two trips to the podium, as well as an impressive P2 overall in qualifying at Silverstone and setting the fastest lap in class at Donington Park.

Moving up to the Mk7 class for 2024, Mason added further plaudits to his efforts including winning the opening race at Snetterton, delivering two impressive wins at Thruxton and finished the season with seven podium finishes from seven rounds.

Last year saw the youngster compete in four rounds of the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE Trophy Championship, delivering more impressive results, including an outstanding race win at Thruxton, five further podium finishes – including four rookie wins and breaking the lap record at Brands Hatch.

Showing great talent in Front Wheel Drive tin-tops means the Cambridgeshire-based teenager is now set for his touring car debut in TCR UK, returning to a circuit where he has gone well before.

“I can’t wait to be driving the Vannin Motorsport Audi RS3 at Brands this weekend and being part of the TCR UK Touring Car Championship.  The deal was only signed last Friday, so I haven’t even sat in the car yet. I’m properly excited but also feeling the nerves ahead of Friday’s test.  The car looks insane, and Vannin are a fantastic team with a great track record, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together,” said Jenson.

“It has been my dream to step up to touring car level at some point in my career, but I didn’t think that opportunity would come around at just 17 years of age.  I feel very lucky and I am so grateful to everyone who’s helped me get to this point. At the moment, I’m only confirmed for the first round, due to budget, but we’re working hard to find new partners and sponsors for the rest of the season.”

Championship Manager Jack Finlan is delighted to welcome Jenson to the championship as one of the new drivers ahead of the season opener on 4-5 April.

“I’m very happy to see Jenson announce his debut this year as one of the new wave of young drivers who are achieving their goal of becoming a touring car driver as part of the TCR UK grid. He’s made rapid progress during his young motorsport career and has shown amazing talent in tin top racing so far,” said Jack.

“Joining an established team in Vannin Motorsport, who have plenty of experience with the successful Audi Gen 2 car, means that Jenson will be working with a competitive squad who know how to extract the best from their cars and provide him with a great opportunity to show well on his debut at Brands Hatch.”
