FastR has today announced that renowned Hollywood stunt driver and W Series stalwart Jessica Hawkins will be campaigning a full season of TCR UK in one of the team’s CUPRA TCRs.

Hawkins is well known on the British motorsport circuit, having taken part in numerous series’, including two rounds of the British Touring Car Championship. Her only full season of front-wheel-drive tin-top competition to date saw her finish runner-up in the MINI Challenge in 2017, with five wins, three pole positions and 13 podiums from the hotly contested 18-race season.

The 27-year-old, who’s skills have graced the big screen in movie franchises such as Fast & Furious and James Bond, will compete under the FastR banner alongside teammate Jamie Tonks, who claimed third place in the Milltek Sport Civic Cup Championship in 2021, with both cars being expertly run by Area Motorsport.

The FastR brand has earned itself an enviable reputation during its five-year existence, with the bespoke apparel manufacturer providing team wear, race suits and merchandise for multiple teams in paddocks not just in the UK, but across the globe. As the UK’s biggest manufacturer and distributor of apparel, FastR’s products can also be found in the highly competitive world of super-yachts, and last year its highly experienced media team provided the official media for Pikes Peak and a number of other high-profile events.

Luke Clayton, FastR Founder:

“We’ve always taken pride in helping people that deserve it to get to where they want to be, and Jess is the prime example of that. We worked with her on her inaugural BTCC drive back in 2020 and have been lucky enough to work together on some really interesting projects since then.

“She possesses almost inhuman levels of car control and race craft, and we’ve been looking at options to support her for a full season for a little while. After watching TCR UK grow and mature, it was the obvious option to put her in what is fast becoming one of the best championships on the calendar. I’m really excited to see what she can do with the car, especially following Area Motorsport’s highly successful 2021 season with Bruce Winfield.”

Jessica Hawkins, FastR TCR UK Driver:

“This is such an awesome moment for me. I’ve been trying to make a high-level touring car championship campaign come together for many years, and finally, thanks to the help of Luke and the Team at FastR, it’s all happening!

“I’m super-excited for my first full touring car season, and I’m even more excited to be doing it in the UK in what has quickly proved itself to be a fantastic formula in TCR UK. I’m aiming high, obviously, but there’s some serious talent on the grid this year, so I’m going to work my socks off to do everyone proud.”

Stewart Lines, TCR UK Promoter:

“We are delighted to have Jessica and Jamie with us this season and we really appreciate FastR’s support and commitment towards our championship. It’s a true endorsement for what we’re aiming to achieve with TCR UK.

“We wish them the best of luck with what has the hallmarks of being a very high-profile campaign and look forward to working with them during the season.”
