2024 TCR UK Touring Car Championship debutant Steve Laidlaw has confirmed that he will compete in the remaining events in the 2024 season.
Having made his debut at Snetterton in the Capture Motorsport run Hyundai i30 N TCR, Steve took two top ten finishes out of the three races held at the Norfolk venue.
Following his positive opening weekend in the championship, Steve has now signed up for the remaining events in the 2024 calendar: Oulton Park this weekend, Croft in July, Silverstone National in August, Thruxton in September and the Silverstone International finale in October.
This confirmation takes the number of Hyundai i30 N TCRs on the 2024 grid up to three, with Laidlaw also being eligible for the Goodyear Diamond Award. Laidlaw will also remain with Capture Motorsport for the rest of the 2024 season.
Following his opening weekend at Snetterton, where he enjoyed a front-row start in the reverse grid race on Sunday and was also in action in the supporting Audi TT Championship, Steve is looking ahead to the rest of the season at the wheel of the Hyundai.
“I’m excited to confirm that I’ll be competing in the remaining rounds of this year’s TCR UK Touring Car Championship. My experience at Snetterton, driving the Hyundai for the first time in anger was a real eye-opener. I’m looking forward to being on the grid for the rest of the year,” explained Steve.
“I’m still learning about the Hyundai, however, Capture Motorsport have a lot of experience with running TCR cars in the UK and I look forward to making progress up the grid as I get more experience under my belt.”
