TCR UK Touring Car Championship Promoter Stewart Lines will make his long-awaited racing comeback in TCR UK at the next round of the 2024 season at Oulton Park.

The former TCR UK podium finisher will join the grid on Saturday 8th June for rounds seven and eight of the 2024 season, driving the Audi RS3 LMS TCR which saw race winner Brad Hutchison behind the wheel for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Running under the banner of “Maximum Motorsport with MPH Racing”, Stewart will be driving the Audi in its iconic Bond It colours on the weekend of what will also be his 61st birthday.

With his entry qualifying for both the Gen 1 Cup and also in the Goodyear Diamond Award for drivers of 40 and over, Stewart will get to test the car for the first time during the official test day to be held at the Cheshire circuit on 7th June.

Stewart’s vast CV of motorsport experience includes a podium finish in TCR UK and the TCR Spa 500 endurance event, race wins in the British Endurance Championship and over 3 decades of MotoCross experience.

The Maximum Motorsport team owner has also enjoyed success in VAG Group tin-top racing, finishing 2nd in the VAG Cup overall standings, 3rd in the Golf GTi Cup overall standings and 3rd in the Volkswagen Racing Cup. His impressive resumé also includes multiple podiums in the JCW Mini championship and podium finishes in the Clio Cup.

As well as his stint in the BTCC, where he finished 3rd in the Jack Sears Trophy in 2015, Stewart was crowned 2020 Ginetta GT4 AM Champion and is a former winner of the Birkett 6-hour Relay event at Silverstone.

Outside of his racing extensive racing career, Stewart has worked hard to raise the profile of TCR UK within the British Motorsport scene as well as within the global TCR family itself.

The Staffordshire-based driver is looking forward to making his racing return.

“I’m glad to be back racing again and will hopefully add something to the grid at Oulton Park. I want to say thank you to Martin Hutchison and everyone at MPH for the chance to go racing once more,” said Stewart.

“I also want to pass on my thanks and gratitude to Bond It for allowing me to run in their colours, doubling their presence on the TCR UK grid for the first time this season. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my 61st birthday than to go racing at a great venue such as Oulton Park.”
