Macau Touring Car Cup race winner Max Hart will make his return to TCR UK this year, as part of his racing programme as a 2026 JAS Motorsport-supported driver.
Already announced as part of the ALM Motorsport team for a full season in the 2026 TCR Europe Touring Car Series, Max will also compete across all seven race weekends in this year’s TCR UK Touring Car Championship alongside teammate Max Hall in the Hall’s Racing squad.
This news now means that there will be at least four Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCRs on the grid, further adding to the variety of TCR brands taking part in the 2026 season.
As he begins his seventh year in TCR Competition, Hart has spent four of those in TCR UK fighting for the title, before moving on to TCR China in 2023 and taking his famous win at Macau.
2024 would see Max fighting for the TCR Asia International Series crown and making his debut in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour.
2025 was the year that Hart joined TCR Europe, taking his first win in the series at Hockenheim in a Target Motorsport Hyundai, before competing in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour finale at Macau in a CUPRA Leon VZ TCR.
Supported by O’Driscoll’s Irish Whiskey and Pam Oil Company Limited, Max will be racing back in the UK for the first time since 2022, and this is the first time in his career that he’ll be racing in a Honda.
Driving the JAS built Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCR provides a rare chance for Max, as he aims for both the TCR UK and TCR Europe drivers’ titles in the same season, something he is very clear on.
“I’m super excited to be racing in TCR UK this year, as a JAS Supported driver, racing for Hall’s Racing. I love racing in the UK, and it’s great to be racing on the best circuits in the country. It’s very clear that the championship has moved on massively since I last competed here; however, as a driver, I have also made big strides in my career, and I’m confident ahead of my return,” said Max
“It’s a great honour to be representing JAS and Honda in the latest stage of my career, and I’m looking forward to seeing what I can do with the Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCR. During my time away, I’ve added some great achievements to my CV but also done a lot of travelling, so it will be a bit easier this year as I compete in the UK and Europe. My goal for 2026 is clear: go out and win the TCR UK Drivers Title.”
Championship Manager Jack Finlan welcomes the return of Max Hart to the TCR UK grid as the clock counts down on the off-season and the excitement builds to a brand-new season, which gets underway at Brands Hatch over the Easter Weekend.
“I’m always delighted to welcome back old friends to the championship, and it’s with great pleasure to see Max make his return for 2026. Having begun his TCR career in the UK, Max has raced in some of the biggest series around the globe, including topping the podium at Macau and racing in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour, a CV that speaks for itself,” said Jack.
“The TCR Concept shows that drivers can start in their national series and make their way up to World level, and Max has been one of the many drivers out of the UK to follow this path. Armed with the Honda Civic this year, he has the chance to add further silverware to his cabinet. 2026 is looking to be the most exciting year yet for TCR UK.”
