Paul Sheard Racing have today confirmed that they will now run three Audi RS3 LMS TCR Generation 2 cars in the 2023 TCR UK Touring Car Championship after signing rising star Oliver Cottam.

Having already announced both Joe Marshall and Garry Townsend during the Christmas period, both drivers will be joined by sixteen-year-old Oliver Cottam, who makes his debut in TCR UK this year.

Oliver previously tested a Power Maxed Racing CUPRA TCR during MotorsportDays Live at Silverstone last year and impressed with how he quickly adapted to the race-winning car.

With this experience behind him, making the move to TCR UK for 2023 was an easy decision to make for the Motorsport UK Academy driver.

Oliver has previously raced in the Junior Saloon Car Championship and Ginetta GT5 Challenge, however moving up to TCR UK for 2023, he is excited about the challenge ahead.

“It’s great to be joining to joining TCR UK at a time when the championship is growing in numbers and competition. I’m excited about the season ahead, but I realise there is a steep learning curve moving into this level of touring car racing,” explained Oliver.

“I’m really grateful to my family for all of their support in making this happen, I’m looking forward to getting to grips with the Audi over the winter. I’m proud to be the fourth generation of the family to be involved in motorsport.”

Paul Sheard Racing Race Engineer Peppe Planeta welcomed Oliver to the team.

“We’re excited to have Oliver join the team, its great to have such a young and upcoming driver join the team as we expand our lineup for the new season. We are excited to work with Oliver as he makes his debut in TCR UK,” said Peppe.
