After their successful debut in the championship back in August at Donington Park, Paul Sheard Racing have elected to return for the final two rounds of the 2022 TCR UK Touring Car Championship at Snetterton on 23rd October.

During their first weekend in the championship, George Heler was able to take a fantastic fifth place in the second race of the day in Leicestershire and this success will now see Jonathon Beeson take his turn in the teams Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR.

Beeson already has experience in a TCR car, driving for the same team in the British Endurance Championship at the wheel of an Audi RS3 LMS TCR Generation II, where he has enjoyed success during the current season.

Driving the same car as Heler did at Donington Park, the 2018 TCR UK title-winning machine driven by Daniel Lloyd, Beeson is looking to hit the ground running in a proven car, which was competitive right out of the box in its first meeting.

Paul Sheard Racing Race Engineer Peppe Planeta expands on the teams’ reasons for returning for the season finale.

“We enjoyed a great weekend at Donington Park, where despite an issue in Qualifying, George was able to show his true pace, especially in the second race where he was battling with the likes of Jamie Tonks and TCR UK title contender Isaac Smith.

“Having seen how George went in the Golf back in August, it’s now Jonathon’s turn to try out the sprint racing nature of TCR Competition, having focused on Endurance events so far this year. We look forward to re-joining the championship at this exciting time of the season to showcase what we can do once more.”
