Luke Sargeant has made the switch to Audi machinery ahead of his return to the TCR UK Touring Car Championship at Silverstone this weekend.
Luke will drive an Audi RS3 LMS TCR Gen2, running under the RS Vehicle Sales banner, during rounds 12, 13 & 14, which take place on the National circuit at the Northamptonshire circuit.
Having driven the CUPRA Leon Competición TCR in the opening three weekends of the 2024 season, run by Area Motorsport, Luke has made the switch after missing the Croft event due to business commitments.
2024 has been Luke’s best season so far, having taken a best finish of fifth place in the first Snetterton race back in May and following this up with two more fifth-place finishes during the two races at Oulton Park in June.
Returning to the National circuit, where last year he raced the Hyundai Elantra N TCR, Luke is now armed with the aero-friendly Audi, which has shown great pace on circuits with long straights so far this season.
Luke is excited to be back in the TCR UK Paddock and spoke about his hopes for the weekend.
“I’m very happy to make my return to TCR UK. Due to the lateness of getting the deal together to drive the Audi, I won’t be running with Area Motorsport,” Luke explained.
“However, I want to pass on my thanks to Rob Baker and the team for all their support and hard work with me throughout my TCR UK journey. I am very grateful for the time I spent with them and look forward to getting to grips with the Audi.”
Championship Promoter Stewart Lines is happy to see Luke return to the championship this weekend.
“It’s great to see Luke back in the championship. Luke has improved greatly in his second year in TCR UK and I look forward to seeing how he progresses with the Audi this weekend at Silverstone.”
