Luke Sargeant is gearing up to make his debut in the 2023 TCR UK Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park next month.

Taking part in his first season of car racing, Luke will be throwing himself in the deep end as he tackles TCR UK in the Area Motorsport run Hyundai Elantra N TCR, driven by Josh Files in the opening two rounds of the year at Snetterton.

Luke has several test days planned ahead of his debut at the Cheshire circuit, where rounds five and six of the 2023 championship will take place on the Island layout, in the one-day-only event on Saturday 10th June.

The Elantra showed good pace at Snetterton, taking pole position and a podium on its championship debut with Files at the wheel. The car has since been fitted with a new engine and turbo and will be back to compete alongside the latest generation of TCR models in the championship.

Having recently competed in the opening two rounds of the Milltek Sport Civic Cup, Luke is fully aware of how much more competitive TCR UK is and he is excited to be making his debut.

“It’s amazing to be making my debut in the TCR UK Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park in the Hyundai Elantra. I’ve been watching the opening rounds from Snetterton and Croft and I know I’m joining at an exciting time in the 2023 season,” said Luke.

“When I decided I wanted to go racing, my first thought was that I wanted to be in TCR UK and next month I get the chance to realise that ambition. As I join the grid in my first season of car racing, I know that there is a competitive field this year, and I’m looking forward to a solid debut which will kick off my programme for 2023.”

Luke’s entry for Oulton Park is supported by R.S. Vehicle Sales Ltd, JLF Car Nest, Wright Automotive (Hinckley), Lilian Stanley Financial Services and Secured Vehicle Solutions.
