Building on the success of 2021, TCR UK organisers are excited to announce plans for an extended 2022 season, with a calendar running from April to October that features 15 rounds at seven race meetings.

The action kicks off with two British GT events, the first over the Easter weekend at Oulton Park on the International circuit and the second a few weeks later at Donington Park GP, each featuring two races. Joining forces with the Time Attack Championship, a three-race weekend at Brands Hatch comes up next, followed by a return visit to Oulton Park for a double-header on the Island configuration track.

After a well-received outing at Castle Combe last year, the much-revered west-country venue is back on the calendar in early August for two races. The TCR teams then re-join the Time Attack package for a double-header Donington National meeting and the grand finalé at Snetterton.

Four of the meetings feature a hugely popular and well-established car show, a factor that generates public engagement and ensures the races are watched by more spectators than other series’ of a similar status.

“Our plan is to establish TCR in the UK as the high-profile championship it deserves to be,” explains Championship Manager Stewart Lines.

“2021 was a great year for us and, together with Club Time Attack and our motorsport partners, we were able to establish its foundations for the future. We now look forward to 2022 and a season that promises to provide even more benefits for competitors and raise the profile of TCR racing in the UK even further.”

Organisers are pleased to report that the level of interest shown for 2022 has never been greater. “If the enquires are anything to go by, then we’re going to see grid numbers rise considerably next year”, adds Stewart.

“We’ve had more discussions with teams and drivers than ever before, so we look forward to making lots of announcements between now and next April as they sign up for what promises to be the best season yet for TCR in the UK.”

Further information about the 2022 season and TCR UK’s exciting plans, including media activity, TV coverage, corporate opportunities, competitor benefits and spectator engagement, will be announced over the coming weeks.
