TCR Europe front-runner Viktor Andersson will join the Pro Alloys Racing team to make his debut in this year’s TCR UK Touring Car Championship.

Already confirmed for a full-season effort in TCR Europe this year, Viktor will make his debut at Brands Hatch, competing in a Pro Alloys Racing run Lynk & Co 03 TCR in the first three rounds of the 2024 season.

Pro Alloys themselves are also entering their first full season in TCR UK, having taken a race win last year at Donington Park with Alistair Camp in the Hyundai i30 N TCR.

The 20-year-old Swedish driver already has experience driving the Lynk & Co, having competed in last year’s TCR Europe Touring Car Series for the MA:GP team, owned by his father Mattias.

His first season in the series included a podium finish at the season finale in Barcelona, on his way to finishing in fifth place in the end-of-season points standings.

Having made his international touring car debut last year, Viktor now adds competing in TCR UK to his motorsport CV as he prepares to join the series next weekend.

Already familiar with the car itself, Viktor will also be supported by his father’s team as they work with Pro Alloys on what will be the debut of the Lynk & Co brand in TCR UK this year.

“I’m really excited to make my TCR UK debut with Pro Alloys Racing. This all came together quite late and I’ve never raced at Brands Hatch before, so I’m keeping my expectations modest. We’re heading straight to Brands from a pre-season test in central Europe, then straight to Vallelunga and the TCR Europe premiere after this weekend. It will be hectic, but it will be a good first proper outing for me to prepare for my TCR Europe season,” said Viktor Andersson.

Pro Alloys Racing Team Manager Neil Greenland spoke about Viktor joining the team for their first full season in TCR UK

“As a team, we made the joint decision with Ryan to not commit to Brands Hatch, as we felt we were not prepared enough with our limited time with the cars. After multiple discussions with Mattias Andersson regarding the setup for the Lynk & Co, we came to an arrangement that his Son Viktor Andersson would be a great development driver for rounds 1, 2 & 3 of the TCR UK campaign at Brands Hatch,” explained Neil.

“With the father/son duo having plenty of experience and great results in TCR Scandinavia and TCR Europe, it was a no-brainer for the team. A massive thank you goes to Mattias, Viktor, everyone at Geely Group Motorsport and to Maximum Motorsports for making this happen.”

Championship Promoter Stewart Lines welcomes Viktor Andersson to the TCR UK Touring Car Championship.

“It’s good to see a driver of Viktor’s stature coming over to take on the drivers in TCR UK. It will be interesting to see how he performs in the Lynk & Co in the opening rounds of this year’s championship.”
