Capture Motorsport will return to the TCR UK Touring Car Championship for 2024, after two years away, as Team Owner Will Beech also brings the Volkswagen brand back to the series.
Previously running Jack Depper in a Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR during the first half of the 2022 TCR UK season, Will takes over the driving duties in the popular TCR car as he switches from Endurance racing to Sprint racing for 2024.
Will has previously competed in the Club Enduro Championship, where last year he finished in joint second place in the end-of-year championship table, driving a CUPRA TCR.
As well as making his debut in TCR UK, Will is also eligible to compete in the Gen 1 Cup, a new classification for older TCR cars in 2024, driving the Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR which will also be sporting a new livery.
Will is eager to get the season underway, which begins at Brands Hatch on April 13-14, where his entry will join the other confirmed Gen 1 Cup competitors on track.
“After racing in Endurance events for the last few seasons, I decided that I needed a new challenge and a change. So, for 2024 I’ve decided to enter TCR UK with the Golf and take on the challenge of sprint racing,” Will said.
“The championship has moved on a lot since Capture Motorsport were last involved and it’s great to see TCR UK with such a competitive field as the organisers take the next steps forward. I can’t wait to get out there and show off the Golf in its new colours!”
