The latest driver to sign up for this year’s Goodyear Touring Car Trophy and TCR UK season is Will Butler, who has confirmed he will contest the full six-meeting, 14-round calendar behind the wheel of a PowerMaxed Car Care Racing prepared Leon Cupra TCR.

Having previously competed in rallying, Will switched to the tracks last year to start his journey into circuit racing. Having taken part in a series of tests and selected events in 2020, which included Touring Car Trophy meetings at Silverstone and Donington, the 22 year-old from Evesham was able to gain signatures on his competition licence and more importantly, invaluable door-to-door racing experience.

Quickly acclimatising from the gravel tracks of European forest stages to the smooth asphalt surface of the British circuits, together with the support of the family businesses Rotec and Flipstick, Will felt inspired to put together a full season campaign in 2021:

I really enjoyed the time I spent in the TCR car and taking part in the races last year. It was a new experience from what I was used to, but looking at the changes the organisers have put in place for 2021, I decided that the circuits and the new-look Touring Car Trophy and TCR UK Championship is the way to go.

Whilst I know the competition is going to be tough, I’m hoping that the pre-season testing combined with the support from PowerMaxed Racing will enable me to get up to race-pace quickly and if things go according to plan, I’ll be able to challenge for podiums as the year progresses. I’m really looking forward to the first two rounds at Silverstone on 25th April and getting started on what promises to be a very memorable season.
