Andy Wilmot will return to compete in his third event of the 2023 TCR UK Touring Car Championship, as he races in the Brands Hatch Finale this month in honour of his late friend Dan Kirby.

The 2022 Goodyear Diamond Champion has raced at both Croft and Silverstone this year and will feature in the final event of the season using the car that Dan raced at the first two rounds of the season featuring a full tribute livery including Dan’s name and number, as the Championship looks to pay homage to a popular member of the paddock.

As he returns to the grid later this month, Andy is grateful for the support he has received as he prepares for the final meeting of the year and the chance to remember his late friend.

“It’s been a difficult time for me, having lost a friend, business partner and team-mate in such a cruel way and I want to take the chance to remember Dan in the best way I can.

“Racing with his number and with a tribute livery on the car that he originally raced earlier in the season, means that I can give him the send-off that I feel he would have wanted.

“I am so thankful for the support that I have been given in getting back on the grid for the season finale, it means so much that so many sponsors and partners have been involved in making this happen.”

Andy sends his thanks to Maximum Motorsport, Goodyear, Vital Equipment Ltd, Questmead Ltd, Joyce Design UK Ltd, Rob Boston Racing, GKR Scaffolding and Click Dealer for their support in making this possible.

Championship Promoter Stewart Lines shared his thoughts as Andy Wilmot returns to the TCR UK Touring Car Championship for the final event of the year.

“Dan Kirby was a good friend of Nicki & myself and was always a pleasure to deal with on and off track, it’s only fitting that we are involved in doing something at our final event this year to honour his name.”
